Hey Baby!

So last week we shared with the Facebook world that you will be coming into our world this September.

FB Announcement

It was an exciting week.

Your Dad sat at the dining room table and watched the announcement increase in Facebook likes and comments like a pinball machine. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ha! Your Mum didn’t have time to sit around all day and she had to go to work. The encouragement was overwhelming and there are plenty of people excited about your arrival… even though we have to wait another 6 months.

The exciting thing about last week is that, apparently, God opened your ears and you can now hear. I learnt this from my pregnancy iPhone app :)

I am particularly thankful that this happened when it did because I was at the Colour Conference when I turned 14 weeks pregnant.

The first noises and murmurs you would have heard in utero was *insert southern accent here* people preachin Jesus. You would have heard Bobbie Houston, Beth Moore and Lisa Bevere preach their little backsides off about God in our past, present and future, faith for any season of life, forgiveness, deliverance and restoration in Jesus, God’s unique love for us to name just a few topics. AND you would have heard your Mum yell “Amen!” and “That’s right!” till she was blue in the face. There was also incredible music and singing, and beautiful songs containing incredible melodies and lyrics.

This is Aunty Jess (15 weeks pregnant) Aunty Tara (38 or 39 weeks pregnant) and I (14 weeks pregnant) eating maccas to calm out pregnant bellies.

I’m so happy that this was the week you got to hear the outside world. I couldn’t think of a better first.

For this, your Mum is extremely thankful.

Wednesday Words to Live By – Ephesians 2:10

You know what? It is still about 9pm in Los Angeles which means it’s still Wednesday somewhere in the world, and I’m not late with my Wednesday Words!

Ephesians 2:10

New International Version (NIV)

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

It’s been a big week.

Sorry, that’s an understatement. The level of passion and excitment I have felt has more been in line with the height of excitment I felt leading up our wedding.

Believe it.

Our fresh new-look Women’s Ministries at Kellyville Adventist Church was launched on Facebook and Twitter on Oscars Night (at least I’ll be able to remember the date!). Let’s be honest, until things are on up Facebook, they don’t really exist – at least that’s the way the world kinda thinks. The next morning I tweeted the above Bible text and then commented:

“Love that God, in advance, has prepared good works for us to do.”

It was a teaser for Wednesday Words; I just had no idea at the time that this is how I feel about Soul Sisters.

God has big plans for us, we just need to make ourselves available and allow him to use us.

It’s all His own handiwork – love, love love this!

P.S. If you are on Facebook and you aren’t connected yet to Soul Sisters, click on this link and go and “like” the page. If you are not on Facebook, and I realise some people aren’t, just bookmark the website in your browser so you can come back and check it when you want to.

SPANK – St Paul’s Arts n Kids

I just stumbled across this awesome church website with what looks like an incredible kids ministry. I got connected through a post on Facebook and dug a little deeper to find these Christmas themed videos. You HAVE to watch all of them! They are “based on a true story” :)  St Paul’s, you guys are awesome!

I think this next one could be my absolute favourite.

I lie, they are all my favourite.

Kellyville SDA church… could we get this kind of thing happening? How much fun would it be???!!!

Funny Richie-isms

Compassion stand - Colour Conference 2011

“Tell em I love Jason Bieber!”

– Yes you read right. JASON BIEBER! This was Richie’s response to the question “What music do you like to listen to?” He was being interviewed by a friend from Western Australia who has asked him to preach in the Junior Tent at Easter Camp.

“I’m a member of Blue Ilusion, do I get a discount?”

– This is what my Beloved said as I went to pay for an item I bought at Blue Illusion, the Australian women’s clothing and homewares company. Yes, my husband is a member. He said that he bought a clock once and they asked him if he wanted to become a member and he thought it would be a great idea.

Richie hacked my Facebook page over the weekend.

Maybe this was payback – Love ya Babe xo

A little Amos in the morning

This morning I went for an early morning bushwalk.

Before leaving the house, I did a quick scan of the old Facebook, after Twitter of course, looking for Brooke Fraser Concert feedback and came across my friend Mali’s (who saw Brooke earlier in the week AND actually got to meet her! See her post here) short status update which read

“Amos 5:21-24”

Half way down the track, I stopped at the creek, grabbed my You Version and read Amos 5 in The Message translation.

It’s a full-on verse.

It’s a verse that you read and go, WOAH, don’t mess with God. He is ripping into Israel and is talking right at me.

What I love is this:

Do you know what I want?
   I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
   That’s what I want. That’s all I want.

Amos 5:21-24 The Message (The last bit of Verse 24)

Oceans of it.

Rivers of it.

Justice and Fairness.

Then He sent His Son to provide it.

Just for you and me, and everyone else on earth.
