Have you ever read the below verses in different versions???I love the highlighted common theme in each of them:

Matthew 2:10-11 – King James Version (KJV)

10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:10-11 – New International Version (NIV)

10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.Matthew 2:10-11 – Amplified Bible (AMP)

10When they saw the star, they were thrilled with ecstatic joy. 11And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts–gold and frankincense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:10-11 – The Message (MSG)

9-10Instructed by the king, they set off. Then the star appeared again, the same star they had seen in the eastern skies. It led them on until it hovered over the place of the child. They could hardly contain themselves: They were in the right place! They had arrived at the right time! 11They entered the house and saw the child in the arms of Mary, his mother. Overcome, they kneeled and worshiped Him. Then they opened their luggage and presented gifts: gold, frankincense, myrrh.

Matthew 2:10-11 – New Living Translation (NLT)

10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! 11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

I can’t wait for the day when Jesus returns. I believe we are going to have the same joy-filled reaction the Three Wise Men had – we won’t be able to contain our joy and our desire to worship Him.
This Christmas, Richie and my prayer for you is to experience “exceedingly great joy” through the gift of Jesus.
Happy Wednesday :)
