All roads lead to Atlanta

Our last day in Savannah, just before the start of General Conference Session of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, was one filled with excitement.

We have had an awesome time road-tripping, but it has been quite clear to us, no matter which route we chose, which towns and cities we stay in, all roads led to Atlanta.

“Just quietly Babe, I am so excited. I’ve been dreaming about this day since I was a little boy. ” This is what I hear while I am packing. “Can we hurry up, because I want to get their early.” Rightio Richie, let’s go.

So, this is where we will be staying for the next week or so while Richie attends meetings. We’ve been blessed with a room in the closest hotel to the stadium where the meetings will be held. Walking just a few miles every day in 38deg heat with 100% humidity is enough for us.

We’ve met old friends from Brisbane, caught up with new friends and I’ve been introduced to more of Richie’s colleagues from all round the world. I also got to catch up with my cousin Zonia. When we saw each other, we screamed and started crying like true South Americans, and true Riffels! We can’t help it, it’s in our genes. Last time we saw each other was when Zonia and her family came to Vanessa and Marcus’ wedding in August last year. It was a fun time. She drove 21 hours from Texas to come to G.C. and is working with Esperanza, Hope Channel’s Spanish program.

So in the next week or so, there will be random stuff posted and some hard-core stuff as well. The scenery may still the same, but hopefully the content will change and will be interesting.
