It’s on like Donkey Kong. Oxfam Trailwalker 2012, we are going to own you.
We got our stride on this morning as we hit the trail “officially” for the first time this year. The Sydney Oxfam Trailwalker is about 145 days away and between now and then, we need to raise $5000 and train like the kids out of the Hunger Games.
Today was an easy 8 or so kilometres – Cowan (Checkpoint 1) to Berowra Heights (end of Berkley Close).
Our training buddies included Peter Aitken, Jono Behrens, Marcus Pereira and fellow “Dorcas & Lads” team-mate Mark Aitken.
Breakfast on the left. Backpack snacks on the right.
Buddies from way back.
How’s the serenity? Berowra Waters.
Trail shenanigans.
Ok, smile. Ready?
Break time. Fun times at Berowra Waters for Mark & Marcus.
Stunning sandstone formations.
My reward of Smoked Salmon sandwiches at Cafe Laurella.
Interested in sponsoring us? Go to http://www.trailwalker.oxfam.org.au/sydney Everything helps, even if you want to throw $25 down we would appreciate it!
Go to the website and look for “Dorcas & Lads” in the “Find a Team” search.

You’re a sucker for punishment. You’re doing it. Again!
Mind you, that walk seems so nice, I think I’d be so buy checking out the scenery! And the food? Great rewards I see ;)

Sucker for punishment is exactly what we are.
We all said that we would NEVER do it again, and now we are – in fact Marcus, my brother-in law, is running it.
It’s funny how powerful “what-if” can be… What if we did it again… What if we could beat our time… What if we were more strategic in our training and our game-plan… HA!
